About Us

The Saunders County Historical Society has been proudly serving Saunders County since 1963. We work hard to preserve and protect the cultural heritage of this county.

Mission Statement:

"The purpose of the Saunders County Historical Society is to collect and preserve objects (artifacts) and information which illustrate the history of Saunders County, Nebraska and its people. These objects and information will be used to educate persons about the social, economic, cultural and political history of Saunders County."

Curator

The museum employs a full-time curator, Erin Hauser, as a part-time assistant, Lila Zech. Together, this team and a host of volunteers work to maintain a vast collection, provide a range of items in our gift shop and keep the museum running smoothly and efficiently.

The Board

Each November at our annual meeting, members elect board members to a three year term. Current board members are active in setting the strategy and direction of the organization. They serve without compensation and donate their time, talents and resources generously.

Directions

We are west of Omaha, north of Lincoln and southwest of Fremont, Nebraska. Located at: 240 N. Walnut, Wahoo, NE 68066
