Year of the Deere, 2017

Stan Kucera was no ordinary farmer. He was a man with a passion for collecting John Deere Tractors. One of the best is a 1924 Spoker D with a 26" original flywheel with the spokes. John Deere made less than 100 of these tractors due to safety concerns when farmers were being injured by the spokes. Deere switched to a solid flywheel design. The tractor collection is composed of more than 100 tractors and many parts.

Due to a generous donation, the Stan's personal collection of John Deere Tractors has been graciously donated. Some of tractors will become a part of the permanent collection at the museum but some parts and other tractors were auctioned. Mr Kucera's generous donation has empowered the museum to continue to build and preserve history.

The Year of Deere was kicked off with presentation about the many tractors collected by Stan. The presentation is available for your viewing. Please be patient when viewing. This is a very large file.

We are grateful for this generous contribution.
